Red Star Belgrade host Hapoel Be'er Sheva at the Stadion Rajko Mitić in the second leg of their Champions League third qualifying round tie, and they arrive with no margin at all.

Red Star have to win by two

Hapoel took the first leg 1-0 through a Zahi Ahmed goal in the first half. Away goals are abolished in UEFA competition, so the maths is simple and unforgiving: Red Star must win by two goals to settle the tie inside 90 minutes. A 1-0 win only forces extra time. Any draw, or a Hapoel win, and Red Star are out of the Champions League and into the Europa League phase.

Left-back Pedro Amador is out with an Achilles injury. On top of that, Kings Kangwa — their key midfielder — left for Panathinaikos before this tie and has not been replaced, which removes the obvious outlet for relieving pressure.

A side defending a one-goal lead in a hostile stadium, without two starting defenders and without a midfielder who can keep the ball, is in a difficult night.

The Skeptic called 1-0 and took the Believer apart for the rout: "Three-nil. Against a side whose whole plan is eleven men on the edge of their own box." He also points out that Red Star failed to score against Hapoel at all in the first leg.
