PFC Levski Sofia vs AEK Athens prediction — the Three Pundits debate (UEFA Champions League Qualification)

Nobody call this lot plucky. Levski ended fourteen straight years of Ludogorets and won the thing with four games spare. They've beaten Kairat in Kazakhstan to get here, and the Vasil Levski will be rammed for a night this club has waited decades for.

Every August someone tells me a team is undercooked. It's usually already in the price.

But AEK have played one competitive game all season. They lost it, to OFI Crete. And Vitalis is cup-tied, which is the one thing nobody can fix by Tuesday.

The quarter-goal start is 1.94 at Pinnacle and that's the rung I want. Take the half-goal instead and you're carrying identical risk for a smaller return, which is just paying the bookmaker for nothing. The reason it beats backing Levski outright is the draw — on this one a draw hands you half your money back instead of taking all of it. Jovic and Varga are the risk and I've priced them in. What I can't price in is a side finding its sharpness away from home in a hostile ground, missing Gacinovic and unable to use Vitalis at all. I make this a one-goal game either way. That's exactly the shape the quarter-goal is built for.

I called this level and I'm still on the bet. That's not hedging — a draw pays here, so my read and this ticket agree. Just don't tell me Levski are winning it. They're not losing it, which is a different thing.
