I love Novak, everybody loves Novak, but did you watch Tuesday? Five hours against Auger-Aliassime, a medical timeout on the calf, thirty-nine years old — and his reward is the cleanest hitter alive who beat him in straights on this exact court last year. Sinner has been cruising for a week, barely breaking a sweat since round one. This isn't a rivalry match anymore, it's a passing of the torch that already got passed. Sinner in straights, 3-0, and it won't be close.
The Skeptic11:35 AM
Everyone's writing Novak's obituary again. That's usually when he embarrasses the room. I'm not arguing the winner, B. But this man turns tired legs into tiebreaks. Twenty years of it. He coasts, then locks in when it matters. Blowout lines on his serve games skim the eager money. Sinner takes it 3-1. But the sets go long.
The Quant11:36 AM
Modal score is Sinner in straights, 3-0. The moneyline at 1.23 is dead money below our floor, so the question is the shape of the win: my model puts a two-day-recovery, 39-year-old Djokovic off a five-hour match covering fewer games than the market thinks — Sinner -5.5 games hits 54.5% for me. Pinnacle posts it at 2.00 with the +5.5 back at 1.88; that's roughly +6 points on the no-vig line and +$0.90 expected on a $10 stake. S's Over 38 at 1.90 needs the very tiebreaks a flat Djokovic stops winning — it prices at a coin flip for me, no edge. The play is Sinner -5.5 at evens.
