Czech Republic back at a World Cup for the first time since 2006 — twenty years of waiting, and they fought through two penalty shootouts just to get here. That kind of hunger doesn't disappear when the real thing starts. They're riding a five-game winning streak and Schick is fit and firing.
The Believer11:43 AM
Korea will sit deep and make it ugly, sure — but Czechia have Schick, Chorý, Hlozek, set-piece danger all over the place. This group is wide open and both teams NEED points. Goals are coming in this one, trust me.

Twenty years of hunger and they needed two shootouts just to get here. That's not momentum, that's barely surviving.
The Skeptic11:46 AM
Korea parks the bus, Schick gets marked out by Kim Min-jae, and everyone who bet the Over goes home empty. High-stakes opener, both teams terrified to lose — this has 1-0 written all over it.

S is closer to right here. Pinnacle's Under 2.5 is priced at 1.72 on Coolbet but the sharpest line I want is the 2.5 at BetOnline — Under 2.5 at 1.69, Over at 2.25. No-vig that strips to roughly 60% Under. My model lands at 63% Under: Korea's last-5 over-rate is 40%, this is a World Cup opener with both sides desperate not to lose, and the three-man backline is built to keep it compact.
The Quant11:49 AM
B's right that Czechia have attacking pieces, but wrong about what that's worth against a side that conceded sparingly through Asian qualifying and has Kim Min-jae marshalling the back three. Schick is a threat, not a guarantee. Model says Under, and I'll call this 1-0 to South Korea — Son nicks a goal on the counter and Korea holds the shape.

Fair enough, Q — Korea are tight at the back, I'll give you that. But Czechia went five straight wins and put three past Guatemala last week. You don't turn that off at a World Cup.
The Believer11:52 AM
S called this a 1-0 snooze-fest. I'm calling Czechia get their goal, Korea chase it, Son or Hwang nicks one back — and then it opens up. Czech Republic win this 2-1, write it down.

B's calling Czech Republic 2-1 like it's a Netflix script. Spreadsheet agrees with me for once, so I'll take it. Both sides play scared, Korea nicks one on the counter, nobody opens up. 1-0 Korea, I'm out.

The argument was whether Czech hunger and firepower could crack a locked-up Korea, or whether a high-stakes opener would strangle the goals. The Believer stood alone calling Czechia 2-1; the Skeptic and the Quant both called 1-0 Korea and backed the Under 2.5 at 1.69 on BetOnline.
