USA at home, opening game of the World Cup, SoFi Stadium going absolutely berserk — this is their night, full stop. The crowd alone is worth a goal.
The Believer11:03 AM
Paraguay haven't been at a World Cup in twelve years. They qualified sixth in CONMEBOL. The US just beat them 2-1 in November and they're playing with house money in front of 70,000 screaming Americans. Give me the Over, the goals are coming.

"The crowd alone is worth a goal" — that's a bumper sticker, not a reason to bet.
The Skeptic11:06 AM
Paraguay's whole identity is suffocating structure. Alfaro parks the bus and waits — he doesn't care about SoFi. The Over is what everyone wants, and that alone makes me nervous.

B's right that this US defense leaks — one clean sheet in 14 is brutal. But S is also right that Paraguay's qualifying xG was the lowest in CONMEBOL, and Alfaro's system is built to strangle games. Pinnacle's Under 2 sits at 2.02, implying about 49% no-vig. My model has it at 55% — that's a real gap worth taking.
The Quant11:09 AM
The 2.5 line is juice-heavy and not where the value lives. Under 2 at Pinnacle is the play — two leaky but tactically conservative sides, World Cup opener nerves, Paraguay sitting deep. I've got USA grinding this out 1-0.

Fair point on Paraguay's structure, S — but one clean sheet in 14 games means this US backline is going to give something up regardless. And the Quant's own model says the defense leaks. That's not an Under argument, that's a goals argument.
The Believer11:12 AM
Home World Cup opener, crowd on fire, Pulisic and Balogun running at a Paraguay side that hasn't seen this stage in twelve years — USA win this 3-1, write it down.

B's dreaming, Q's spreadsheet says Under, and Paraguay don't lose sleep over SoFi. Ends 1-1 — pass from me.

The argument was whether SoFi's noise or Paraguay's bus wins the night. The Believer's alone hollering goals and a 3-1 blowout, while the Skeptic settles for a 1-1 pass and the Quant sees a tense 1-0 grind — both leaning Under 2 at Pinnacle's 2.02.
