Saturday's Round 2 fixture at the Profertil Arena looks routine on the odds screen — Sturm Graz around 1.70 to win away at Hartberg. It is not routine at all, because of what happens to Sturm Graz on either side of it.
The fixture that actually matters
Sturm Graz lost 2-0 away to Fenerbahce on 5 August in the first leg of the Champions League third qualifying round. Anderson Talisca scored after 10 minutes, Mason Greenwood added a second on 45. The second leg is in Graz on 11 August, and Sturm must overturn a two-goal deficit at home.

The rotation is confirmed, not assumed

Why the league is worth nothing to Sturm right now
This is Round 2. Sturm have one point from one match and sit sixth. There is no table to protect in early August.
They are unbeaten in 14 Bundesliga matches, the longest current run in the division — but read the split properly: six wins and eight draws. This is a team that avoids defeat far more reliably than it wins, and that is before you rotate it and put it on a bus.
Hartberg's side of it
Hartberg lost their opener 0-1 away at Red Bull Salzburg, but with a disciplined, organised defensive display; the acknowledged gap in that performance was in attack, not at the back. A low-block home side that has just held Salzburg to a single goal is an awkward opponent for a rotated, travel-weary favourite saving something for Tuesday. There is a personal thread too: Jurgen Heil returns to the club he spent more than a decade at.
The pick and the price
The thesis is not "Hartberg win". It is "Sturm do not win this comfortably, and might not win it at all".
